With the addition of an inner layer made of cardstock, we can create a window that can be used for a photo or artwork. It also makes for a more polished looking card.

Instructions:

  • Cut the patterned paper to the Card Kreator template size. Cut the textured card stock 1/16” shorter than the patterned paper. Using the template, mark the fold lines, and fold both papers on their middle line. On the patterned paper, cut a 3 3/8 th inch circle from the front, positioning it slightly to the left. Starting at the center of the front edge, punch the border, using the guides, and running to the top edge, then come back and from the center punch move left, punching to the bottom edge. This will center the cutouts. Adhere the ribbon down the inside edge of the punched border.
  • For the embossed symbol, stamp using the copper pigment ink. It is helpful to stamp on glossy cardstock or photo paper. While image is still wet, sprinkle a heaping portion of the embossing powder onto the image. Shake off onto a paperplate, and put the excess powder back into the jar. Using a heat tool, heat the embossing powder on the stamped image until it melts, moving quickly around the image. Be careful not to overheat.
  • Cut the stamped image larger than the 3 3/8 th inch circle. Adhere stamped image into the window. Put adhesive on the inside of the patterned paper and the back of the stamped image. Carefully align the cardstock liner into the card and press to set the edges. It helps to line the edges up while the card is folded, and not pressed open. Your card is finished, you may add your sentiments to the inside.
  • To make the matching envelope, simply use another sheet of the same patterned paper, and follow the wonderfully simple directions on the Kreate-a-lope template. Cut a scalloped circle from the left over cardstock paper to adhere to the front of the envelope for the address label..
