Supplies Needed:
Templates:
FreeStyle™ Card, Envelope, and Liner Templates – Bucket
Patterned Papers:
Two coordinating patterned papers – one should be striped
Coordinating linen colored cardstock
Other:
Decorative edge rotary cutter (Victorian) – or use decorative edge scissors
Design Runner – Happy Birthday – or use printed font on linen colored cardstock
Using muted colors can make this a masculine birthday greeting card.
Instructions:
- Cut the first patterned paper (not the striped one) to the Bucket Card template size. Cut the coordinating striped patterned paper (with the stripes running vertically) to the size of the front of the Bucket card. Cut that piece in half – across the middle. Glue the striped piece over the bottom half of the card. Print “Happy Birthday” onto a piece of linen colored cardstock. Cut a 1 ½ inch wide strip of the cardstock 6 inches long – using the decorative rotary cutter, or scissors– be careful in centering the words in the middle of the strip. Glue the decorative strip in the middle of the card – covering the seam of the two patterned papers. Trim the decorative strip to the correct angle on the left and right hand side of the card. Decorate the inside of the card with your sentiments.
- To make the matching envelope, simply use a sheet of the linen cardstock and follow the directions for the Bucket envelope. Use the striped patterned paper (running vertically) and cut a 1 ½ inch strip with decorative scissors (or the rotary cutter) on the top edge. Glue onto the envelope, at the bottom, and trim to fit the envelope shape. Use the non-striped patterned paper for the envelope liner.
